I am currently involved in a conversation about meditation or “mindfulness” and all the myriad of interpretations and meanings of these terms that have become so common in popular culture and the media these days. Not a day goes by, it seems where someone is talking about mindfulness and how it will make you healthy or happy or calm. Here is a video from Susan Piver that addresses common misconceptions. She has an online group of meditators who access her meditation instruction through her writing and videos online. Its called The Open Heart Project.

Mindfulness (meditation) is “being oversold as a panacea that is simple, safe and involves no heavy objects” but this article is better than usual. Kind of amusing its in the Money section of the NYT:
